Church Street into Dale Street circa 1905
Above: A picture showing possibly the Gawthorpe Maypole Procession at the junction of Church Street and Dale Street circa 1905. The grocer's shop on the corner of the junction has a sign "I KILBURN" above the entrance door and lots of people are watching the parade from the upstairs windows. The two mill chimneys in the background and further up Church Street are at Northfield Mill and Temperance Mill. The buildings may have changed slightly, but the location is easily identified even in 2015.
